Customizing Settings
Configure Save's security, archiving, verification, and encryption features.
Save offers powerful settings that allow you to customize the app to your needs. To access settings, touch the cogwheel at the bottom right of your screen.
The settings page offers options organized around the S.A.V.E. acronym:
Secure
Lock the app with a passcode
When the passcode lock is enabled, the app automatically blurs the screen when switching apps or viewing recent tasks. This protects your content from being visible to others who may briefly see your screen.
Archive
WiFi-only uploads
Choose whether to only upload media while using a WiFi connection. This is useful if you have limited mobile data or want to ensure uploads happen only on secure networks.
Media servers
Choose "Media servers" to:
- See which servers you are connected to
- View your login information for each server
- Disconnect server(s) from the app
Archived folders
Choose "Archived folders" to view folders you've previously archived. You can select an archived folder to unarchive it and return it to your active workspace.
Verify
SHA256 Hashes
Whenever sending media to a server via Save, it is always packaged with a sha256 hash, which we encourage you to share publicly for future verification. This hash acts as a digital fingerprint that can prove your media hasn't been altered.
ProofMode
You can use ProofMode to notarize and add more metadata to your media.
Important: You will need to record your media in-app when running ProofMode in order for it to add extra metadata to the media at point-of-capture. This additional data further corroborates and verifies your media's built-in metadata (EXIF data).
Encrypt
Transport Layer Security (TLS)
Your media is always sent over Transport Layer Security (TLS), ensuring that data is encrypted during transit between your phone and the destination server.
Orbot / Tor Integration
While the integrated encryption feature is still under development, you can enhance security by:
- Sending media only via Orbot (the Tor network) for additional anonymity and protection
- Using a VPN of your choice for an extra layer of security
Enabling Tor prevents interception of your media as it travels from your phone to the server.

Choose your preferred theme (dark or light mode) to customize the app's appearance.
